March 2015 – German School Phoenix

Going to a real restaurant would be the best place to practice ordering food in German, so that’s exactly what German School Phoenix did on March 21^st, 2015. All classes were held at the Brat Haus on Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale instead of the regular classrooms at King of Glory Lutheran Church in Tempe. The weather was perfect for practicing conversation skills outdoors, and the day was topped off with delicious food and great German beer. Each class sat together with their teacher at one of the large outdoor picnic tables and reviewed food-related vocabulary as well as how to order in German. The Brat Haus also offers a selection of German beers, which prompted discussions about the different kinds of regional beers in Germany and the glasses typically used to serve each type of beer.
